P.M.O. Central Building
General Technical Specification of the Project:
Iran Ports and Maritime Organization building (tower), as a remarkable symbol of Tehran, is located on the most beautiful part of the city, Abbas- Abad green lands. This building is included of one official tower with 17 floors and a ship- formed building and related areas. The building has 17 floors and 3 basements for parking and services. The ground floor and the 13 floors above have more areas than the 3 final floors and the last floor is CEO's office.
Aluminum Windows and Façade:
Composite sheets and double case aluminum windows were used for the façade of the administrative Tower of Navigation building. Due to the huge dimensions and continuous windows, airproof elements were used all over each window. They not only air- proof floors but also function as frames for the windows.
Ship Shaped Building:
In this building, amenities, amphitheater, restaurant, and prayers room are designed. This part of the complex has 2 accesses, one to the first floor of the tower and the other directly goes to the site. The convex shape of the ship creates a suitable area for the amphitheater with 300 capacities and also a no-shaped area for the restaurant. The tower is connected to the ship through a bridge from the first floor.
Dome Shaped Ceiling:
The ceiling of the CEO's office in 13 floors has been designed like a dome with an Iranian curve, and also inspired by Iran's ports and seaside; the center of the dome is painted like a sky and its surroundings is a land. The main entrances of the building are located in the north-east of the building and leads the clients thorough an open area which is very high. The ceiling of this passage is also in the form of a dome and painted like a horizon where the sea and sky meet.
Using Up to Date Technologies in Internal Joinery:
The materials used in the joinery are of the best quality. The ceiling of the office area is covered with Armstrong aluminum panels, flame proof and rust proof panels. The staircase walls and pillars are also covered with knaff panels and galvanized substructure. The floor design of the public areas and conference rooms is a combination of the best quality granite stone and regular geometric designs.
Colorful aluminum sheets have been used in the open areas between the floors and behind the windows for decorating the façade. Also the combination of wood and stone work has created a magnificent atmosphere.
Waterworks, sewage collecting and averting, fire extinguishing, air conditioning plants are installed according to the National Building Provisions. The main building air- condition system includes chylrhays, boilers, cooling towers, and heat exchangers in the main powerhouse, fans and ventilator in floors. Except the main powerhouse in the tower building, the ship building has a powerhouse, compression chiller, cooling tower, and warm water resources. It also has an equipped kitchen and restaurant for serving about 150 persons in 3 shifts.
The Electrical systems are all automatic. The main systems in electrical installations are composed of automatic fire- extinguishing, computer network, internal and external telephone network, power and UPS, satellite and central antenna and a telecom tower, a closed circuit camera, traffic announcement and E- rod.
In case of power cut, an automatic powerhouse enters the circuit in less than 30 seconds. The mentioned diesel generator is located between the emergency main board and low voltage.
